Encompassing an area with almost 3 million people, from Hawkesbury to Queanbeyan and the Blue Mountains to Bankstown, Lifeline Macarthur and Western Sydney answers tens of thousands of calls every year. Through supporting each help seeker we move towards our goal of building resilient individuals and communities, where a dark moment does not equal a dark life.

Welcome Everyone to Our 2025 Lifeline Macarthur & Western Sydney Gala Event
It is with immense pride and heartfelt gratitude that I welcome you to the digital program for our 2025 Annual Fundraiser—the Unveil Hope Masquerade Gala.
Over the past 12 months, our team at Lifeline Macarthur and Western Sydney has demonstrated remarkable innovation, resilience, and the power to stabilise communities in the face of unprecedented challenges. Together, we have expanded our reach, deepened our impact, and adapted our services to meet the growing needs of our community.
- 8.6 Australians die every day by suicide.
- 75% of those who take their own life are male.
- Suicide is the leading cause of death for Australians between the ages of 15 and 44.
- People in rural populations are 2 times more likely to take their life by suicide.
- An estimated 1 in 3 of Australians reported feeling lonely.

This past year, our crisis support team has responded to the increasing demand for lifesaving assistance. Whether addressing the urgent complexities of community trauma—especially for our younger people—or providing tailored financial counselling to help restore hope and stability, every call answered is a reminder of our mission in action. Our work is a constant affirmation that no one in our community should feel isolated during their darkest moments.
We have also bolstered our community outreach and education efforts, delivering workshops on mental health awareness, resilience, and domestic and family violence that reached 1,543 participants. In Western Sydney, our focused outreach through Suicide Prevention awareness and training has connected with over 250 dedicated professionals and community members, further reinforcing the vital importance of accessible mental health care and early intervention.
Our Retail Stores and Distribution Centre have played an essential role too. Not only have they generated significant revenue—which directly funds our crisis support services and community programs—but they have also championed sustainable practices and provided meaningful opportunities for volunteer and community engagement. Speaking of volunteers, the growing number of passionate individuals joining our Lifeline family truly underpins every success we celebrate this year. Their ongoing training, development, and daily dedication are the heartbeat of everything we do.
Thanks to the generosity of our community – through fundraising events, grants, donations, corporate partnerships, and tonight’s attendance – your contribution not only sustains our life-saving services but also enables us to invest in new initiatives as we continue to evolve in response to economic uncertainty and social isolation.
I’m delighted and proud to confirm that 100% of funds raised through our previous Gala event in 2024 were able to support our vital services and make a tangible difference for our community. These funds were utilised for:
- 13 11 14 Crisis Support and Suicide Prevention services
- Financial Counselling – for those suffering severe hardship
- Men’s Mental Health plus Workshop initiatives for Young People
None of this would be possible without the collective commitment of our Board of Directors, our dedicated volunteers and staff, our distribution and retail teams, corporate partners and sponsors, businesses, and every individual donor who believes in our shared vision. Together, we are not just facing the challenges of today—we are forging a brighter, more compassionate future for all.
